I keep getting freeze-ups with Word The only add-on I have is Grammarly which I use to check papers. The problem I find with these new MS Office products is that you have to download it to the computer and you cannot buy a hard drive. If someone would send me steps how to uninstall Office and reinstall it would be appreciated. This thread is locked. I found the following solution in another discussion which may be associated to your issue. It is listed below. Thank you to pisteger for posting the KB-number. We are continuing to investigate why Update KB causes Word and sometimes Outlook to slow down or hang.
As a workaround, you can safely remove that update and we will post more information here as we learn more. We understand this is a high priority.
Update Windows Updates. Restart your PC and run only Word. In the Start section you can disabled the auto start programs. It is advisable to run only one program at a time.
